Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how IkdHub ("we", "us") collects, uses and protects your personal data when you use ikdhub.ng. We process personal data in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 (NDPA).
1. Data we collect
- Account data: your name, email address, phone number and password (stored only as a secure hash).
- Agent and owner data: business name, office or residential address, the town you operate in and a government-issued ID document for identity checks. We do not collect your BVN.
- Listing data: property details, photos and videos you upload.
- Usage data: basic technical information such as IP address and browser type, used for security and to prevent abuse.
2. Why we use it (lawful basis)
- To create and run your account and provide our services (contract).
- To verify agents and property owners and keep the marketplace safe (legitimate interest and consent).
- To send service messages such as verification links, receipts and listing updates (contract).
- To send optional updates about new properties, only if you opt in (consent). You can opt out at any time.
- To meet legal obligations.
3. Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only where needed to provide the service: for example, with the agent or owner of a property after you book an inspection (Partner listings), with payment providers to process payments, with our hosting and email providers, or when required by law.
4. How we protect it
Data is sent over encrypted connections. Identity documents are encrypted at rest and can only be viewed by authorised staff, and every view is logged. Access to personal data is limited by role.
5. How long we keep it
We keep account data while your account is active. Identity documents are deleted 12 months after an account is closed or an application is rejected. Some records (for example payment records) are kept longer where the law requires.
6. Your rights
Under the NDPA you can ask to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, withdraw consent, and object to certain processing. You can make these requests from Account → Privacy or by emailing us. You can also complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.
7. Cookies
We use only essential cookies needed to keep you signed in and to protect forms. We do not use advertising cookies.
